Ramblings This year's yearbook staff consisted of a variety of personalities. Several people with talents in different areas contributed to the success of this year's yearbook. Each year, the feature on the year- book page is focused on the problems and duties that are encountered. It is, however, the people attacking the prob- lems and duties that actually produce the yearbook. This year's yearbook staff consisted of four seniors, six juniors, six sopho- mores, and six freshmen. Jonna Behm senior, was this yearis editor and proved to be a major asset to the staff. She was Nancy Rassmussen takes a break to show us a smile. She was responsible for assigning stories, photos, etc., and seeing that each person finished their assignments. The editor, as well as the rest of the staff, proved to be enthusiastic about the success of this year's yearbook. De- spite the hassles and times of frustra- tion, the staff was able to overcome problems and put together a yearbook we believe will be both interesting and unique to any previously issued year- book. We hope you enjoy it! ff. 33- it , it -- i g-: .3 ,. arg t. ,, '-,ati a ,A- it it S a t ,a f ,e M 1. A if t ttg rg -ir ' gpg. ' w ill s o i A t im e - 5 if i s ,I g p s :sg W . ..... , W Mn... Soph- omores and freshmen were not allowed to park in the lot after semester in hopes that the problem would be releived. This year was different from most be- cause we had two different student body presidents, Teri Martinez took over for Jung So when Jung graduated at semester. Senior, Jon Hume, became a national winner when he competed in various runs over the country. Lakes Ismailides also won an award in a Na- tional Science contest. There was a new non-school sponsored boys volleyball team this year made up of Green Mountain students. This new team had a very successful season. A new school policy this year was that parents were called if a student absence was not ex- cused within the day. This new policy was adopted to relieve the attendance problem. A sad development in Jeffer- son County was what some called a sui- cide epidemic. The epidemic caused the schools and social services to mobilize and try and help. The year 1985-1986 was a year in which much progress was made. It was also a year with many tragedies and setbacks. Good and bad it, it was the year that was. Current - 213

Dear Reader When I took on the responsibility as editor, I thought l had it made with fun and games. It was a lot of fun, however, l wasn't expecting so much work and frustration. At the end of the l984-85 school year we chose a cover design that we thought everyone would be proud of. We stuck with the cover color sequence but wanted to do something a little different. The yearbook staff liked the cover design element using rounded corners on every page becoming a theme in itself. Many people take for granted all the work producing a yearbook consists of. The yearbook staff has worked very hard to put out a good yearbook. The main photographers this year were David Rodenbaugh and Matt Leyba who was new to the staff. He proved his photographic abilities at the beginning of the year and has out done himself ever since. Nina Schnieder who had to give up yearbook at semester was a tremendous asset to the staff for pictures and copy. Karrie Bliss and Wendy Whittekiend were also new to the staff this year. The effort they put forth was phenomenal!! Wendy has become notorious for her ability to write good quick copy and receives a lot of credit for the current events section. Karrie, from the start was willing to take on anything set in her path. She was a very strong, dedicated worker. Cambria Olson was new to the staff. However, working with the yearbook is not a foreign subject to her. She was editor of Dunstans yearbook last year. Pat Cary and Nancy Rasmussen became members of the staff second semester. Nancy, from the beginning was always willing to take on any assignment. She was also a terrific photographer. Pat was constantly taking on layouts any time somebody needed them. Pat was there to help even when he had other things to do. This is John Schallenkamp's second year with the yearbook staff. John was our key man. Without his ability to work with the computer and to type as fast as he does, this book wouldn't have gotten compieted so soon. Dana Spittler, junior, was an incredibly outstanding student this year, as always. She has been on the staff for three years. She knows all there is to know about the yearbook. Dana showed a lot of care and loyalty. That loyalty bailed many people out of tough situations many times. Ann Orton started the yearbook staff her freshman year, She remained with us until the middle of her junior year. She started out the year as a junior editor but chose to leave the staff at semester. She was a very strong emotional pegssnnwho accomplished a lot, especially under pressure. Ann was missed a great deal when she left. tThanks Ann. J. . ' Further thanks should goto 'Andrea Meanor for being the calm influence in the fall, Jason I-iokenstrom for being such a great runner and also taking on pages which needed help, Jeff Thomas for finally learning his way through the building, Kristen Schultz for doing a terrific job on Homecoming and all her other assignments, Laura Bier for writing anything given to her, Scott Spendlove for hailing so many pages out when they were needed in a hurry, Lori and Shannon Peppmuller for the work contributed and thanks also to Molly Campbell who came to the staff a couple of weeks into the second semester. She was eager to write the stories handed to her with incredible quality and speed: She was a great asset to the staff. We are very proud of many different things we tried to accomplish in this years book. l know I can speak for the entire staff when I say we hope you enjoy this yearbook. Sincerely yours, t t J Jonna Bchm Ramblins Editor I986. Rambling ..- 215
