National Art Honor Society This year the National Art Society was regenerated. It consisted of Linda Peschong, president, Nina Schneider, vice-president, Amy Schneider, secre- tary, Susan Gerhart, treasurer, and ap- proximately l5 members. They felt that fundraisers were not as important as enhancing their talents, going on field trips to art shows and museums, and repainting various walls in our building. ' The students in the gifted and talent- ed program were to pick a mentor, work on a project outside of class, and re- ceive help from them. As Nina Schneider, senior clarifies, Art is an attempt to explain the unex- plainable, thus we are philosophers dis- covering the realms of the inner mind? -Q WNW r l s -1 . K GM Pep Band This year's pep band, headed by Julie March, played at the winter events. fThis was done because marching band played at the fall events.J Pep band played at pep rallies, but mainly played at the girls' and boys' basketball games. The band was split into two units. Half of the band played at the girls' games and the other half played at the boys'. This was so the band members could rotate between games. The mem- bers of pep band were all volunteers, but they all received points toward let- ters. Pep band wasn't an organized club, but they were an organized group of people. They proved this by everyone attending the games they were responsi- ble for. At first glance, pep band looks like a condensed version of marching band. For the most part, they're right. Several of the pep band members were also members of marching band. The music played by pep band was a combination of music from marching band and out- side selections. All in all, pep band proved to be a great asset to the enthu- siasm experienced at the winter events. at r- . Julie March leads the pep band at a basketball game. A fl. The students, 5 seniors and 6 juniors, came from other countries to spend a semester here at Green Moun- tain and two of them stayed for the whole year. The students were Eva Fre- dricksson, Isabelle Wahren, Fredrik Wiklund from Sweden. Geoffrey Mac- Donald, Martin Keith Kennedy, Glen Fleming and Elizabeth Daniels all call Australia home.
