Shadows Shadows is an audition only group. Consisting of twenty-two members with equal numbers of males and females. These per- formers not only sing but they have choreographed movements to add variety to their perfor- mances. Some of their practices are done in a circle which makes the different voices blend. Mr. Meininger instructs them to sing as if they were singing a solo, to get a sound melodious with the piano. Numbers In Music An eighty member singing group at Green Mountain this year, is Concert Choir. ln order to become a member of Concert Choir, the students must go through a nerve-racking audition. Along with hours and hours of prac- tice, the people auditioning also have to worry constantly that they are go- ing to lose their voices or die of stage fright. People waiting for an audition are not a pretty sight. ln class this year, the choir mem- bers who lived through their audition were working on their vocal technique through sight reading, working on pitch, and singing intervals. The mu- sic they worked on was a variety of classical and show tunes. The group was involved in a variety of activities this year. The group be- gan the new school year by sponsoring the school Halloween Dance. The week before the dance, group mem- bers performed brief skits after the announcements, in order to promote the dance. The choir also presented numerous performances. They gave several school concerts, and performed in All County Festivals in formal settings. The group gave an outstanding show at the University of Northern Colora- do Concert Choir Festival. To get accepted into Concert Choir, and to be able to handle the Joe Schleicher Joe Schleicher was President of Men's Choir and Concert Choir. He was also in Shadows, the reason he gives for partici- pating so much in music groups is that he feels it let's out his energies more than sports.
