iiHigh school could not have possibly meant as much without Senate. It is one of the many fantastic learning experiences available at Green Mountain High School. In the four years I have been fortunate enough to serve the Student Body through Senate I have experienced many different aspects relating to real life. One is that of change-things constantly changing for the better and for the worse. Another invalu- able lesson I have learned through Senate is to get involved and to MAKE A DIFFERENCE in the lives of other people. I thank you for this opportunity and may God bless you alll Jim Thermos Student Body Vice-President 'Qi lt's not a class of taking notes or writing a research paper, or even taking a single test . . . no, not Senate. Senate is a class of 50 teachers and 50 stu- dents. Every individual must contribute a piece of his own self in order to learn in the class. What a student learns is not numbers or theor- ies or facts, but responsibility, patience, and above all, confidence in standing up for one's self even if AQ other people should be against him. Senate is a unique class where every student is a piece of paper to be written on and a pencil which writes upon others. Anna lvlarie Mantel Student Body Treasurer

STUDENT BODY OFFICERS Tre activities of the 4979-80 Student Senate probably did not have an effect on the world situation, but this group of people made a differ- ence to Green Mountain High School. The Pur- pose of Senate is to serve the Student Body, and if one student became more involved and inter- ested, Senate achieved an important goal. Through activities such as Homecoming, Canned Food Drives, Health Awareness Week, and Prom, we can be sure of student involvement. Howev- er, the seemingly less important activities of Sen- ate were the most significant. New Student parties and giving out warm fuzzies were just a few ways that we tried to congratulate people for just being alive. inwardly, I realize the 79-80 Senate has been a huge success, because ev- eryone really cared. To care about something, to have a cause , makes a person complete. This school year has been one of ups and downs, successes and failures, but it is something to be proud of. l'd like to wish every person at Green Mountain High School the best of luck. You can make your life everything you want it to be. Debbie Nalty Student Body President ', P After eleven years of lectures, and home- work, my senior year has finally arrived. All of the anticipation I felt had finally paid off. I owe a lot of my success in my final year at Green Mountain to this year's Student Senate. Not only did the 48 senators join the student body in all possible ways, but together they became better leaders, as well as individuals. Student Senate is by far one of my most rewarding experiences. I highly recommend every stu- dent in the coming years to get involved with the organization. I wish you all succss in the coming years. Hope to see you again soon. Sharon VanDyke Student Body Secretary
