Lawrence Resident Men's Council At the beginning of the school year, 1935-36, the resident men of Green Nloun- tain Junior College elected five of their number to compose a Menis Council, the purpose of which was to represent the resident men of the college in an ofiicial capacity incident to 'resident life in Moses Hall and to formulate, direct and provide with power to enforce rules and regulations for the general Welfare of resident college men. The Council membership is composed of a faculty ad- viser, three sophomores and two freshmen. In cooperation with the college administration, the Resident lXfIen's Council was instrumental in providing a new, powerful, all-wave radio for the lobby of IX-loses Hall. The Council has been continually active throughout the year and has done much to improve and make more worth while the college life of the resident men at Green Nlountain. WOMEN'S STUDENT COUNCIL Bark row: Young, Walker Front row: Beach, Advisor Lewis, Gregory Women's Student Council To five members of the resident women fell the lot of keeping perfect harmony in the dormitories. New rules and regulations were drawn up at the beginning of the year and later new privileges were secured. Their activities have varied from the enforcement of the regulations to raising money to furnish the new recreation room. This is the Hrst year of Student Government. Morris, Garrett, Beach, Tuttle, Director Bogue, Rziymore, Belding, Yelton Peters The Gypsy Rover On March 18, the bright lights at the Opera House flared up and Green Nlountain students, under the direction of Nlrs. Jesse P. Bogue, presented to a small but appreciative audience the operetta The Gypsy Rover. The principles of the cast were Paul Hatch, Helen Yelton, Stanley Smithers, Betty Bogue, Rodney Scoville, Dorothy Stiles, Gorden Kingsley, Elizabeth Tuttle, VVendell Nelson, and Tracy jones. A special ballet solo was given by Anna Swensen. The cast was aided by a chorus of twenty-five voices, and the orchestra under the direction of Robert Spencer. l45l
