CLASS HISTORY As freshmen the present Senior Class started out with twenty members Doreen Bednarek Jean Busse Nancy Cam Luella Deerwester Shirley Hoffman Penny Hoffmann Lorna Kaatz Shirley Kllngbell Karen Schllf Lorranne Smlth Joanne Walker Alice Zerneke Marilyn Zuehls Martln Bartel John Kaatz Arlyn Ludeck Ruchard Muller David Otto Frank Sommerfeldt and Walter Watt Durlng the year Shlrley Hoffman left us The mam event of the year was the Freshmen mrtlatlon The Freshmen were actlve In all actlvltles having elght members un band ten In glee club and several out for sports 1950 T951 This year we mass several famlllar faces but we find a new one here and there Jlm Kmzel and Lorene Lundberg Iolned the Sophomore Class whale Luella Deerwester left to lnve In Milwaukee We presented the one act play The Cocklephefer Case dlsplaylng our dramatic Cblllfl8S We also sponsored a square dance Instead of the usual annual Christmas Ball T951 T952 Wlth two years left before graduation we plunge headlong Into our Junnor year Arlyn Ludleck Loreen Lundberg and Davld Otto are mlsslng this year but Jerry Brown came to 'om us This year we presented the hllarnous three act play Good Nlght Ladies We were represented In band Glee Club the contest play Thesplans Latln Club and other clubs of the school The most wonderful prom In many a year was our own My Wald lrlsh Rose The decorations carrled out the theme complete with an old lrlsh castle rose trellis and shamrocks Martin Bartel and Penny Hoffmann reigned as the royal couple Also we received the most unique and different class rings ever before seen During the year we lost Jerry Brown James Klnzel and Walter Wltt 1952 T953 Well we were finally Seniors although we had never thought that we would make It We had gotten down to thirteen slnce we lost John Kaatz and Duck Muller but It proved to be a lucky T3 for us The homecoming sponsored by us was a great success and we even won first pnze for the best float We publlshed the new srze Lac Verd and had several other attractions tn lt We took part In the Christmas play contest play and our own play January Thaw ' At our departure we felt that we had spent a most eventful 4 years Page 18 11 - . . ,, 1 1 1 I I ' . . 1 1 11 - - 11 . 11 11 A - 1 1 I? B. Boyer for the solo and ensemble contest was held at Waupun, Green Lake was well commendable results. 2 the band traveled to Waupun to compete with other bands in playing and Music Festival. They entered C class playing Joyce's 7'Ist Regiment by their warm-up number, Beethoven's Adagio Cantabile for their selected number, and Royal Gorge for their required number. They selected Sousa's Washington Post for their street march. Forty members composed the Green lake Band this year, and it is felt that they had a most successful year. Congratulations are due, also, to Mr. Bischolt, their director.
