H ' M E 5 ' VV,v ' iui 4 HOMECOMING Iizgr lurlg -eiglvl Homecommg 19 5 2 Beautiful weather along with well planned events and cooperative spirit of school and village made the 1971 Homecommg a fine success Pep Rally Begins Events The big affair got off to a blazing start Friday evening when students parents old grads and m terested townsfolk gathered around the bonfire for the pep rally The rally was started by the band followed by cheers by the cheerleaders Penny Hoffman Mary Haberman Nancy Cam and Marlene Wells Pep talks were given by the faculty members alumni and Coach Bauer Homecoming Queen Lucy anze and lung Eugene Sandleback also had a few words to say Following the rally which was concluded by the crowd slngmg the school song a snake dance headed by Queen Lucy wound its way down town and back to school again Football Homecommg The Lakers tried their best to make their part of the homecoming celebratlon successful also But Campbellsport started the game moving by running the ball back for a touchdown on the opening kickoff Green Lake scored twice but Camphellsport managed to stay a pump ahead and won the game 77 14 Homecommg Parade At approximately l P M Saturday the parade started with the band in the lead The Homecom mg ueen Lucy anze and the Homecommg King Eugene Sandleback followed in a conxert lble and were accompanied by last years qucen oyce Doepke This year s escorts Darrel Ebert and Raymond Lemss rode with the queen The various other floats followed The first prize w1n ner was the senior class w1th their fleet which had the slogan Making Red Devil Soup out of Camp bellsport Second prize went to Grades 5 8 and th1rd pr1ze to the sophomores Shirley Walther and Betty Wesner had charge of the parade and handled all details in such a manner that a smooth job was the result Crownmg the Queen eusers mcludmg formmg a football On the Campbellsport s1de a W C was formed welcom mg Campbellsport The band then formed a G L on the Green Lake side and played Alma Mater Followlng thls the Homecommg ueen Lucy janze came on the field She wore a navy blue wool sunt with black HCCCSSOFICS and was es corted by Raymond Lemss King Eugene Sanclle back came to the center of the field md received the crown of white baby mums from last years queen joyce Doepke who was escorted on thc field by Darrel Ebert The King placed the crown upon Queen Lucy s head and klssed her cheek The royal couple then left the field together Page Forty nme J ' ' l Q 1 ,I a G W .
