Brent Funk, one of Central's outstanding sophomores, swims the last length of the breast stroke for the tankers. Central swimmers get off to a flying start at the Trophy meet with Greeley West. Ken Parker in lane three won the 500 meter freestyle. Craig Gosslin checks hls time with coach Drlggs after swimming the freestyle for the Cats. Coach Driggs gives his tankers a pep talk before the Important meet with Loveland. Central went on to defeat Loveland, 89-83. The tankers throw coach Drlggs into the pool after they defeated Loveland to complete an undefeated conference season. Dave McCarty, another outstanding sophomore, checks his time after winning the butterfly against West. Dave was one of the top qualifiers for state action for the Cats. Wildcat swimmers complete best season ever with 10-1 record The 1974 edition of the Wlldcat swimming team fought their way to their best season ever with a dual meet record of 10 wins and one loss. ln conference action, the Cats were undefeated in dual meets and were nosed out by Loveland for the league crown in the Conference Meet. 1 Five Cat swimmers qualified for the State Meet this year. They were: Mark Larson in the free style, Dan Rowe and Mark Lehrer in the backstroke, Dave McCarty in the butterfly, and the relay team of Larson, Lehrer, Rowe and Brent Hall. IA 21 37 3 ..

106 Although most losses were by a very slim margin, the Central cagers co'uldn't quite shake a losing streak, and finished the season with a 4 - 14 season record. Scoring well, the Cats averaged' 63.7 points per game, but they gave up an average of 68.9 points to their opponents. Leading scorer for the Cats was junior Hugh Boyle, averaging 15.6 points per game.
