They came alone and some in groups. Some came to frighten, but most came to cheer. The revival of tradition - The Horri- bles Parade - seems destined to stay. This year ' s tradition was overwhelmingly a success with visitations from such characters as Pac-Man, The Tidy Bowl Man, The Warriors, The Baseball Fury, and creatures from all walks of life. Topping t he bill though were the Budweiser Six Pack, made by six of our senior students. Long live this tradition of the gathering of all species here at Greater Lowell. 8 find We Call Ourselves Humansi? udwM i in Tof . „ J k KING or Sheet Metal Drafting Health Painting Decorating Printing 13 As all Senior classes have their likes and dislikes, our Senior class here at Greater Lowell is no different. Controversy always runs high in regards to favorite groups, movies, songs, etc. etc. Listed below are the favorite and least favorite categories of the areas that most affect and influence our teenage lives. The big winners in the music categories were predictable in some cases and surprising in others. The favorite group was split be- tween Rush and Van Halen. The favorite song is also a split between Stairway To Heaven and Turn the Page. Finally in the music category, the favorite albums were Journey, Escape and Foreigner, Four. The least favorite groups were Devo and the Roiling Stones. The least favorite songs were Mickey and We ' re Through Being Cool. The least favorite albums were Tatoo You by the Rolling Stones and REO Speedw igcm, Hi Infidelity. © BALLY MIDWAY MFG. CO. All right reserved. K In the movie, car and radio station category the overwhelming winners were the following. The favorite cars were a Trans-Am or a Corvette. Most of our seniors listen to either WCOZ or WAAF, and the favorite movies were ET and First Blood. The losers were Volkswagons, KISS 108 and for movies, they were Neighbors and Blue Lagoon. In the places to be, places to be seen and places to just hang out category we asked for favorite skipping places, favorite hangouts, favorite classes and favorite summer hangouts. The favorite skip- ping place was either the lunchrooms or home. The areas least favorite for skipping were the hallways or the discipline office. The favorite school hangouts were the smoking area and the second floor, while the least favorite were the bathrooms and the cafeterias. The best places to hangout in the summer were Hamp- ton and Salisbury Beaches. The least favorite summer place was between our two favorites, Seabrook Beach. The seniors favorite classes were Shop and English. The least favorite were Math and Related. Finally the best places to eat were Burger King and the Lo-Kai. McDonalds and the school cafeteria were the least favorite eating spots. Speaking of food, the Senior class connoisseurs selected as their favorite school lunches, pizza and Turkey with Gravy. The big loser here was Cheesburger Pie. The favorite munchies foods were Twinkies and Chinese food. The least favorite munchies were Doritoes and Granola. And last but not least, those people that make our school run, the teachers. The favorites were Mrs. Cunningham from Art and Mrs. Gallagher from English. The Seniors love their teachers so much they did ' t have a least favorite teacher, this year. Electrical 16 In Memorium Our friend has died but we ' re still here, We placed a rose and shed a tear. Proud because of the achievements and contributions that you as a class contributed to the community, the school, and to each other - and grateful for the technical and vocational skills you will always possess. The Class of 1983 has left a legacy to the Greater Lowell Regional School District and Community that is possibly unparelleled in the nine year history of the school. In your Junior year, several members of your class were part of the largest representa- tive group of competitors to qualify for the 1982 V.I.C.A. National Competition in Louisville, Kentucky. Your class also produced one of the most remarkable inter- scholastic transitions when the school district realigned its sports program with the Commonwealth Athletic Conference. Winless teams from the 1981-82 school year turned into strong competitors, and in some cases, state champions in just one year. These are just two examples of the determination and quest for excellence demon- strated by the exceptional men and women from the Class of 1983. In addition to these major achievements, let us not forget all of those day to day rewards that you provided to the citizens from the Regional District. Community projects such as Home Weatherization, the annual Christmas Fair, The VICA cou- pon book, the spring and fall Blood Drives, the Toys for Tots campaign - represent some of the day to day activities that many of you simply assumed as part of your education without knowing the joy and satisfaction you gave to the children, elderly, and community leaders in our District. Although there are many employment opportunities presently available in the Greater Lowell area, plase take heed that the regional and national employment outlook is bleak to say the least. Do not allow your personal and technical skills to deteriorate by settling for just an entry level position for very long. Continue to pursue future educational and skill development programs, and take your special talents and challenge the next segment of your life with the same style and determi- nation you have displayed at the Greater Lowell Regional, and I ' m confident that a lifetime of success will be all but guaranteed.
