COURSE DESCRIPTION This program has been developed to train students for the new off-farm job opportunities in agriculture. During the course of study students are exposed to a wide variety of subject matter. The basic principles of forest management are studied including tree planting, protection, measurement, and harvesting. Students leam the methods of conserving soil, water. air and wildlife as well as the management of recreational parks. For students interested in mechanics, instruction is provided in the sale and service of agricultural equipment. The production and selling of fruits and vegetables. dairy products, and meat products is an integral part of the program. Instruction in fertilizers, seeds, plant identification, pesticides, and herbicides is provided. Acquiring positions directly after graduation is possible: however, those students wishing to continue their education in an agricultural tield will tind the course beneficial. EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES As long as consumers desire food and clothing there will be job openings in agriculture. Agriculture is becoming more mechanized and diversified each year. COURSE DESCRIPTION Instruction is provided in the function and use of various unit record equipment such as the key- punch, veriiier, interpreter, sorter, reproducer, along with a key-to-memory and a key-to-tape unit used to prepare information for computer processing. An introduction to data processing provides an overall view of data processing iield and the direction it is headed. Emphasis is placed on preparing the student to be able to convert various technical as well as math and science prob- lems into the Fortran language for processing by the computer. Preparing logic flow charts and documenting the students own work is also a part of data processing. EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES This is a rapidly growing iield in business, education and industry. JAMES GETTINGS COURSE DESCRIPTION Emphasis is placed on industrial laboratory techniques. Quantitative, qualitative, instrumental analysis and organic chemistry will be taught with industrial type instruments and equipment. A modem industrial chemistry laboratory will be used with modern day technology. EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES As a chemical technician, our graduates will be prepared to assist chemists and chemical engineers in areas such as pollution control, plastics, pharmaceuticals, metals, paints, petroleum and the nuclear lield.
