COURSE DESCRIPTION Instruction provides the student with a comprehensive intro- duction to the medical, para-medical. and health care delivery services through analysis of career accrediting organizations and their requirements. Laboratory periods consist of specialized science courses and their application to the health care iicld. To supplement and balance the students educational experience the curriculum includes a study of Fine Arts, held trips to health maintenance and educational organizations. plus guest lecturers from specilic areas of medical expertise, and a senior research presentation. The student will also leam medical terminology, laboratory procedures, human pathogenic agents, measurements, and treatment theory. RELATED CAREER AREAS Students will be prepared for entry into training programs at both the technician and professional levels. COURSE DESC RIPTTION This program is designed to develop the student in the art of logical thinking in preparation for the business world of work as a computer programmer, or in any related occupation requiring disciplined thinking habits. The goal of this course is to prepare the student for computer programing th rough instruction in and application of problem analysis through goal definition, system design, flow charting, and program writing in the popular Common Business Oriented Language QCOBOLJ. Secondly, the students are ex- pected to develop skill in the operation, programming, and wiring of peripheral equipment supporting the computer so that they have an entry level skill. A third objective is to prepare the leamer for occupations that interpret or process data or information entering or leaving the computer data processing operation.
