COURSE DESCRIPTION The student in this course is given instruction in blueprint readingg mechanical drawingg shop mathematicsg sketching, sheetmetal layout: and cutting, forming, assembling, installing, and repairing of sheetmetal parts, articles, and equipment. He leams to operate such machinery as power shears, forming machines, brakes, rolls, crimpers, and wiring machines. He also gains ex- perience in the use of hand tools, soldering, riveting, and welding and grinding of sheet metal parts. EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES Opportunities for skilled metal workers are readily available as metal fabrication workers, roofers, aircraft sheet metal workers, ship fitters, air conditioning craftsmenn and in various welding fields as well as in industrial plants and in small shops. 130 Shops 8: Labs

COURSE DESCRIPTION Instruction will be provided in the setting up and operation of those machine tools such as engine lathes, milling machines, drill presses, precision grinders, shapers, power saws, etc., as related to accepted practice and procedure on the industrial level. Advanced students will be afforded the opportunity to develop additional skills in precision measurement, layout and inspection tedlniques, through the use of vemier and optical equipment. EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES Machining workers are one of the most important groups of workers in the labor force. FRANK CALDWELL COURSE DESCRIPTION The Service Station Mechanic course will provide instruction in hydraulics, brakes, electrical system, ig- ntion systems, cooling systems, carburetion, wheel suspension, front-end alignment, tune-up, and drive line. Training also includes a course in small engine repair, salesmanship, inventory control, record keeping, merchandise display, management, and service and repair of auto- motive air conditioning.
