Jaksi a cisdisik JHS students who plan to enter the business world are trained by the Business Education Department. Courses are offered in salesmanship, business law, business math, commercial geography and business machines, as well as the perennial shorthand, typing, and bookkeeping. This department gives awards in shorthand and typing to all qualified students. At the end of the year, two special awards are granted. One is for the outstanding busi- ness education student. The other goes to the typist achieving the highest speed in typing by February. One interesting project, supported by the Commercial Department, is the Work Experience Program. Top students are selected to work half a day in area establishments. The department also helps students to find jobs during the summer. [ 27 ]

Mrs. Rachael Georg, Miss Pat Guzzi, and Mr. Charles Colbert. One of the seven wonders of the JHS world is the stu- dent library. Boys and girls can obtain information here on practically any subject. Mrs. Rachel Georg, the cheerful librarian, is always ready to lend a helping hand. She is capable and willing to assist the student with any special problems concerning assignments they may have. The library has a sufficient number of books to arouse interest in each and every reader. There are fiction and non-fiction books plus those dealing with travel, adventure, mystery and sports. In room 313 there are at least 8,000 books for reading. Three daily newspapers are kept for one week for students who want to read them or use them for special assignments. [ 28 ]
