HE tirst graduates completed their tour-year course in three years. ln 1896, the high school classes were moved again, this time to the Central High School, recently renamed the Paris Gibson Iunior High School. This building was a large stone structure crowned by a tower of considerable size. An addition, including an auditorium, a gymnasium, and more class rooms, was added in 1913. Although this was the first, real high school, the building was still shared with grade-school students. ln 1930, the new million-dollar high school was opened to students, offering them the most modernly equipped school in Montana. This included an audi- torium, a gymnasium, and a stadium. CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL- -THE THIRD HIGH SCHOOL Ar-fri. A

lull INCH the first few graduated from high school, many activities have been introduced for the enjoyment of the students. The first inter-scholastic basketball game was held in l906. It was this year we had a champion football team. ln l913, the annex was added to the Central High School, giving high school students access to a regular gymnasium for the first time. Publications came later: the Roundup in 1907, and the school paper in 1921. In l938, at the suggestion of Burt Talcott, then president of the senior class, a group picture of the seniors was taken on the steps by the main entrance. The taking of this picture just before the commencement exercises has since become traditional. The caps and gowns of the members of today's class offer a striking contrast to the dainty, white dresses worn by the girls of the early classes. THE 1941 GRADUATING CLASS 1 1 :Essen 1-. 'xx X N
