Following the tradition of Central, the Speech Department makes an excellent showing again in 1961. At the annual All Catholic meet at Carroll College they sweep the honors: debate. . . extemp. . .oratory. . .best actor. '4 dazed Father Arbanas and Sister Mathias, speech instructor, make final arrangements for a coming speech meet. Consulting with them are Colleen Thomas, LeRoy Julien, Jim Walsh and Rochelle Fanyak. 5 5 E Busily preparing material for forthcoming speech events are Jack Mudd, Carol Ragland, Pam Dickinson, and Rochelle Fanyak. Standing are Harry Power, Hugh Spall and Colleen Thomas. Colleen Thomas delivers her orig inal oratory which won her first place in city, district and zone and third place in the state American Legion Oratory contest.

On March 11, 1960, at the Eastern Montana One Act Play District Festival, Central's Dramatic Department once again brings home a host of victories and honors. John Warner, far left, received the best actor award, Mary Ellen Dolan, the best actress award, Pat Calaway, best supporting actress, and Terry Todd, best supporting actor.
