The class of '61 once again takes sweepstakes honors with a float. Its theme is When You Wish upon a Star. Alumni . . . parade . . . winning floats . . . pep assemblies . . . queen candidates . . . halftime show . . . and the climax, a Mustang shutout The finale of the parade is a pep rally held at the Civic Center. Gail Besich is crowned Homecoming Queen of 1960 by Mr. Riley. Standing in the background is Gail's attendant, Vicky Reeves. The senior girls Join in the parade as the Mustanettes, dressed in White bermudas and blue Mustang sweatshirts.

Taking first place in carrying out the theme, is the Junior's float depicting Hansel and Gretal. Pictured are Mary Ann Vukasin, Kenny Schall and Chris Bulger. The Sophomore's float is of Paul Bunyan and his Big Blue Ox. The second place float shows Paul dressed as a Mustang, looking over the front of the float leads.
