The Mustangs worked vigorously to shape up for a nine-game schedule in a new and bigger league, known as the little ten. Starting off the season, the Mustangs played a noneconference tilt with the Saints of Anaconda. They edged the Saints by a score of 20 to 14. The following week they played their rivals, Fort Benton, at home and handed the tough Benton team a defeat of 27 to 0. The spirit being excellent, the Mus- tangs played their first Class A foeg they surprisingly trounced the Scotties 27 to 6. Next the team played Lewistown and defeated the Eagles by a margin of 13 to 7. They then moved North to play the league leaders, Havre, and lost a hard fought game by a score of 20 to 2. Moving South, the Mustangs met the powerful Barns of Billings Central. Being outmanned, they went down with defeat by a margin of 35 to 19. Coming back to their home field, the Mustangs overran the Locomotives of Laurel by a score of 39 to 20. The Central team, playing its last out-of-town game, was upset by Sidney l3 to 7. The aggressive and power- ful club ended their season at home against Miles City, with an impressive score of 50 to 6. The Mustangs ended their first season with 4 wins and 3 losses.
