W... x Q, tt 2:3 561 ,wc The speech and drama department, with Sister Ruth Mary as its advisor, expanded its program this year, Besides the existing N. P. L, and the draniatics groups, the N. T. C. was activated, and two forensics classes were c-stablished-beginning forensics and advanced forensics. To the right, the beginning forensics class is look- ing on as lack Olistarczyl-1 hands a certificate to loyce Nardinger, who is practicing an acceptance speech, The aim of this club, the National Thespian Club, is to promote a widespread interest in drama and corresponding arts. The first elected officers are Keith Mora, President, Patricia Pizzini, Vice Presidentp Mary Louise Pizzini, Secretaryy and Bill Rutan, Treasurer. Pictured here is the Thespian initiation held in Central's Library on February 19. The group, at left, is preparing the briefs and argu- ments for the national debate question, Resolved: That governmental subsidies should be granted to all high school graduates who qualify for additional training . Starring in the play was Mary Louise Pizzini tabovel who played the part of Mrs, Savage, an eccentric, but sane, widow. lrier step-children were trying to commit her to an asylum for the insane in order to aiiin control ct her money. to an impromptu concert aiven by Hannibal, who thinks himself a great violinist.
