Edwin Messerschmidt, who for a period of eight years was a member of the Faculty of GCS, left immediately follow- ing Commencement last spring on a year's leave of absence in orderto make an evangelistic world tour of mission fields. His first contact and ministry was with Russian missions ln Alaska where the Lord gave him wide open doors. l-le sub- sequently touched Japan, Korea, Formosa, l-longKong, Thail- land, India, Africa, including missions in the following por- tions, Egypt, Eritrea, Kenya, Tanganyika. He also was able to touch Germany and England briefly, returning to GCS in time for the Twentieth Anniversary Celebration at the close of the School year. Lowell Barnard of the Class of '54 has made two extended missionary trips into Peru, South America and is at pre- sent serving as President of the Peruvian Interior Mission, an organization formed three years ago by a group of GCS students. Raymond Henderson, a Junior in GCBI, has spent several months in Haiti as a visiting helper at radio station 4VEl-l. He plans to enter classes at GCS again next fall. J
