1977 Gusher Sponsor: Ms. Bingman Editors: Becky Irvine Sandy Broster Bus. Mgr: Greg Mekras Sales Mgr: Marlene Morris Sports Mgr: Dennis Henson Photographer: Jeff Lynn Dedication With considerable pride, the 1977 Gusher Staff dedicates this year's Gusher to Mr. Roy W. Fleming, our principal and friend. His soft Texas accent from Panola County betrays his zest for hard physical labor, as evidenced in his earlier oil field exploration work; his appreciation for mental desci-pline, as displayed in his graduation from East Texas Baptist College and from current educational duties; and his spiritual awareness, as exemplified in his ordination as Baptist pastor. He is married to Imogene Frazier Fleming; they have two sons, Danny and Stephen. In September of 1966, Mr. Fleming came to our school, and his presence has made all the difference. Administration Left To Right: Roy Fleming, High SchooT Principal; fionajd Culbreth, Superintendent; Jfri O'Donley, Grade School' Principal. 3 Gusher Editors Gusher Senior Workers 4 Junior Workers Staff Freshman and Sophomore Workers 5 Oh, No! The 1976-77 season was the first season for organized girl's atheletics at Grayville High School, and it proved to be a very successful season. The varsity squad ended its season with five wins and three loses. The junior varsity finished with six wins and only two loses. Hopefully, the volleyball teams will improve more over the coming years and soon attain perfect records. Coach Wicevich is planning on organizing a girl's softball team for the spring of '77. There will also be high school girl's and boy's track teams started in the spring. We wish the softball and track teams the very best of luck in their opening seasons! Congratulations, Volleyball Team and Coach Wicevich, on a fantastic season!! ! 57 The Joys Of Women In Sports Our Coach- Bill Wicevich Oops! I guess I missed!
