CmZo Piopk cy A look into the future brings us to the year 1984 at the ten year reunion of the G. C. H. S. class of 1974. As we arrive at Grayville High, we find that Jennie Dow has taken over her father's position as traffic director. After we park, we enter the gymnasium. Our host, Paul Jay, now a traveling salesman, rushes up to greet us with warm embraces. Before we take our seats, we decide to mill around and talk to all our old friends. We see Cheryl Reynolds, who is busy making candles over in the corner. We notice she is using the liberty bell that she won for magazine sales as a mold. Up walks Kevin Aker, CIA agent. He starts questioning us on the fuel shortage, but is interrupted by a loud noise. We rush to the door to find that it is only Steve Wilson and Dana Acree on their motorcycles. It seems that they have joined ''Hell’s Angels. We turn back to Kevin, but he is busy jabbering away into his shoe telephone. We see Dan Marlow, winner of the 1983 Daytona 500. He tells us that his truck driver is Debbie Miller, who is also a 1974 graduate. Dennis Eagle Roberts is now quite famous since his face is appearing in place of the bald eagle on the Seal of the U.S. Two other faces being seen quite often around the U. S. are Bruce Rose and Harry Baxter who have started a new sensation in show business by impersonating women. They have appeared in many fancy nightclubs, and everywhere they go they are accompanied by Sondra Brand, who sits in the audience and laughs at everything they do. Sondra, who now has her famous laugh insured for $4,000, does wonders for their ego. Mary Kay Broster, still a resident of Grayville, has taken the job of top secretary at Grayville High. Also Steve Gunn has taken over the job of head janitor. Dr. Dan Finch, also residing in Grayville, has opened a local optometric office. Debbie Grace Orr, now a famous ballerina, is performing in Swan on Ice” later this month. David Burrows has recently been named Roller Derby King of 1983. Next, we see Debbie Dill, who as a mother of 12, is making pickles in her spare time. Glen Meritt has taken over the ownership of the local Dairy Queen. Melody Irvine is running the concession stand at Bullock Racewjay. After greeting several of our former classmates, we take our seats. Suddenly, we hear a frantic cry from the hallway. We rush to the door to discover that Sherri Graham, now a well-known psychologist, has lost her way upon returning from the restroom. At last the program begins. Our guest speaker is Craig Begert. Craig is now the National Beta Club Head Advisor. His private secretary, Becky Fern Graddy, helped him write his speech six months in advance. As Craig continues his speech, there is a loud yawn. It's only Jim Eaton who has just awakened from his nap. Now awake, he pulls out his comb and fixes his hair throughout the remainder of Craig's speech. Now we are ready to begin the entertainment. First on the agenda is Chris Tate. Chris is going to play her clarinet and the piano at the same time. Incidentally. Chris has just finalized her 13th divorce, two hours before she got here. Immediately after the reunion, Chris is going to get married again since she doesn't want to stay on 13 too long. After Chris finishes her act, there is a unanimous demand for Marlena Miser, Carol Aborn, and Nancy Groff, now starring in their situation comedy series, ''The Three Stoogettes, to give us a show. They refuse, so then Jeff Kleinschmidt volunteers to give us a demonstration of how his new game show Who's Lucky works. When everyone acts unenthused, Jeff suggests we eat. Our waiter for this evening, Mike Wilson, serves us fabulous food cooked by the skillful hands of Gary Glover, chef at the Brown Derby. As soon as the meal is finished, Roger Wayland, owner of the Mercury Independent, runs 70 laps around the gym in 5 minutes to work off the food. There is a suggestion from the floor that we sing, so everyone breaks into song with Every party has its pooper, that's why we invited you, Nancy Munsey. Nancy then stands up holding a sign reading DOWN WITH P.E. , UP WITH SHOEHORNS! There is a shrill sound to one side of the gym. Everyone turns around and fins that Jane Shelton, now an amateur opera star, has begun one of her unforgettable arias. All the girls.
