After entering the stadium, we approach the ticket gate and are surprised to see Valinda McTaggart selling tickets for the Bear-Packer game, as she did many rimes for the Grayville Bison!! As we approach our seats, we are violently shoved aside by a group of Chicago City Police led by Debby Frankland, the new Police Chief. We see a Bookie in the corner and ask him what the trouble is. The Bookie is none other than David Groff, who is busy collecting bets and predicting the point spread for P.B.D.B.'s Board of Experts. He informs us that the kick-off has been delayed due to a bomb threat. An announcement comes over the P.A. that the culprit has been apprehended. He is John Mad Bomber Siegert, who has spent the last ten years scheming his fool-proof' prank. The bomb was located inside the football and would have exploded at kick off. But the crowd is relieved to learn that it is being dismantled by the steady hands and steel nerves of Eugene Woolever(in between puffs). We finally reach our seats and find that we are seated behind a couple with ten screaming brats. As their mother turns to apologize, we recognize her as Karen Riley Burke. We see what she has been up to the past ten years! After all the commotion, boy are we thirsty! Who else do we hear but Burl Ward, now a ball-park beer salesman, who is yelling, Let's Have a Cold One. And we did! The Bears take the field and the game gets underway, with Bobby Douglas at quarterback. Two minutes into the first quarter, Douglas fades back into the endzone to pass bur he has miscalculated and strikes the goal post, knocking him unconscious. Out rush Wilma Hodgson and Donna Tate, who are now full fledged Red Cross nurses. They carry him to the sidelines, where he is received with mouth-to-mouth resuscitation by Head Nurse, Patti Frenchy Rahmoeller. The replacement for Douglas is the Bear’s Bookie sensation, Timothy Wells. In die very first play from scrimmage, Well's throws a touchdown bomb of 99 yards. In the next section of seats an excited fan stands and shouts Oh My Dod, Baby!! Immediately we recognize him as John Birdt Mills, who is now manager of the Gas for Less chain of service stations. Also an excited cheerleader, Tammy Leeds, sets a record of 37 front-overs across the field in succession. The Bears continue to roll and the half-time score is Chicago - 59; Green Bay - 0. The crowd becomes very excited to learn that the half-time entertainment features the famous Country-Western singer Rick Davis singing his new hit single, I am Man. Following this performance, the marching band parades onto the field, with Cindy Spencer as Head Majorette. A photographer for the Chicago Tribune, Dale Thomas, in an attempt to snap close-ups is trapped in the midst of the band. The band is halted by the famous Janie Durbin and Her Dancing Beagles”; and this is an opportune time for Dale's escape. As the band strikes up The Stripper, Tim Alcorn, now a pool shark in the local pool halls, recalls the old pep sessions at Grayville High and bursts into his act on the field. As the game resumes into die second half, it is again interrupted by an escaped chimpanzee, swinging on the Goal Post. No, wait ... it's Roger Mosberger! He always did want to be an acrobat. Finally, the game ends, with a final score of 59-0. The class of '73 agreed to have a reunion after the game at the hot-spot of Chicago, Big Mama's, which is owned by Lynn Aborn. On the way to the party, we are delayed by a wreck blocking the road. We inquire of the state trooper at the scene, Greg Smith, and learn that while attempting a drag race down Lake Shore Drive, Greg Hanisch and Sam Bullock collided and crashed into Buckingham Fountain. They are not hurt and will come to the party when the mess is cleaned up. As we arrive at Big Mama's, there is a commotion outside. The scene consisted of 13 dancing beagles, lapping up three cases of spilled beer, and one apparently injured Falstaff man. On inquiring, we learn that Bill Reese, while working on his refrigerator truck, was attacked by Janie's 13 thristy dancing beagles. Hurriedly, we call the vet, who arrived in five minutes. Shockingly, the vet is our old classmate, Deb Meritt. Alas, our Falstaff man is rushed to the emergency room, for tetanus shot, given by intern (and '73 grad), Lorna Kirsch. We are interrupted by three loud voices belonging to Mike McNew, Russell Wayland, and Steve Link. It seems that the local D.A., Steven Link is trying to settle an argument between the noted Mattress Millionaire, Rus Wayland (who during English class, dreamed up a design for a new mattress) and Bunny Breeding tycoon, Mike McNew. Obviously the problem is Mike's lab rabbits nibbled Russell's donated hospital mattresses.
