CLASS PROPHEC Y The date is May 20 1959 exactly 10 years ago tonight the Senior class at Gray ville High School graduated It is 11 Q9 P M now and at exactly 12 o clock midnight a gong will sound and we will have a series of flashes about the students of that class WOOPS ' 1' H' theie is the gong of the ultra modern television set and we shall tell you what we see First there is Mrs Griesbaum the former Miss Jamerson and she and B111 are enJoy1ng a quiet evening at their home on Catallna Island There is a sudden scraping and knocking noise from the video set and I see OH Faye Juan H and her husband Bob H as they emerge from their latest car a 1960 Buick convertible There are a series of flashes and I finally make it out to be Nancy Walter with her diamond studded convertible She has just returned from a trip to Carmi I can see Yuvetta Bullard still at the switchboard in Grayville and as I look out front I can see Dumpy and Snyder waiting for her as usual Lola Eck IS prancing around and around in something I can t quite tell what it is Oh it is a boxing ring Lola has Just become wrestling champion of the world There is someone on the mat and it looks llke it IS Lowell Eck She James Bellamey speeds by and I see on the truck Bellamey s Nation Wide Feed Company He has Just returned from delivering a load of fish food to Mr Gr1es baum on Catalina Pinky Wells IS shown as the Chief of Police in Grayville After such a good performance in the Senior play in 49 they decided he was the only man to hold the position Clang clang goes the printing press I see Carol Wickham running her own newspaper office in Griffin and Tom is her star reporter She got her new paper experience by being editor of both the Beacon and the Gusher and working down at The Mercury Independent Jack Ward has made millions simply m1l11ons He is running competition with Dr Madden by being the fastest soda Jerk in the world Barbara Young holds an exclusive taxi cab franchise in Carmi She will not let anyone ride unless they are males and have blue eyes Soretta Reese Reynolds 1S a very happy woman now Chuck stays home with the little girls while Soretta teaches Boys Ph Ed at G H S Ira Lee Elliott s gum factory comes into view He manufactures every kind of gum known and makes a considerable profit from his sales He teaches C1v1cs on the side He doesnt care if anyone sleeps in his classes He remembers his sleepy days whn he took Civics . , 1 . - . . . . , K Q . - . . . , . . . y . y .
