Denial Assis+s Promo+e Denial Health The Dental Assistants Club, formed by a group of inter- ested students, provides these students with extracurricular instruction and experience in the field of dental assistance. Among the club projects this year is a trip to area high schools during which the club members will demonstrate to students of these schools the proper method of brushing teeth. Other club activities include a spring visit to the V.A. hospital in Bonham, and a visit to Shepard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls. The students also attend the Mid Winter Clinic in January, and help promote Dental Health Week in February. Dr. Drake demonstrates proper assisting procedures to students Sharonup Hooper and Susan Muldrew.

M n H . j Members of the American Chemical Society are: from left to right, Debbie Franks, Jack Brooks, Tom Evans, Mike O'Ke1ley ACS Takes Field Trips L The Grayson chapter of the American Chemical Society strives to further interest and student aware- ness of job opportunities in chemistry and chemical engineering. It also helps the student to find an employment area with the education received at G.C.C. as well as how he may apply it to advanced programs. In an attempt to meet these objectives the society took a field trip to the Forensic Science Laboratory at Parkland Hospital. Dr. Richard Clevenger talked about the role of chemistry in crime solving. Mem- bers also worked with a water chemist in Denison on sewage and water treatment analysis. and Ken Cutler . Society members experiment with different chemicals.

Club members take field trips throughout the year to become more aware of cur- rent job opportunities in drafting. Two such trips this year were to Texas Instruments in Dallas and the Pillsbury plant in Denison. The club participates in Texoma Regional Plan- ning Commission meetings during the year, and sponsors a club picnic for the drafting faculty and students in the spring-.
