Nurses Serve Community p The goal of the Texas Nursing Student Associ- ation is to further professionalism and knowl- edge in nursing. It is the state division of a national organization and membership is open to any student in a registered nursing program. TNSA allows students to have a voice in their profession by acting as a lobbyist group on the state and national level concerning legislation that may affect nursing. Members were able to exchange ideas and talk with other students at the State Convention held in Houston in the spring. This year TNSA sponsored several health ori- ented service activities. A blood pressure screening clinic was held at Sher-Den Mall in October. Students helped to man the phones at the Crisis Intervention Center. They also main- tain a blood club which provides blood for fac- ulty, students or other needy persons in the area.
