RADIO CLUB The Amateur Radio Club at Grayslake Community High School is HH organization of students who are actively interested in increasing their knowledge of science and electronics. Although membership is open to all interested students, continuing membership depends entirely upon active participation in club activities. During the school year 1961-62, President Vic Majew and the club have directed their efforts towards obtaining a club station license from the Federal Communications Commission, affiliating with the American Radio Relay League, construction of station equipment, and the licens- ing of all club members. Mr. Krieger, WSBXV, has acted as sponsor and as trustee for the club station license. 105

Drescher, L. Goodenough, C. Back, C. Potter. Mr. Miller sponsors the Chemistry Club, the largest oi the three groups. Each member is required to complete a project for the Science Fair. . g'5I? These are all upperclass- men who have taken or are taking physics. They too complete a project. This is the first time that the science club has been arranged this way, and the sponsors have hopes for a large club in the future.

The Girls Athletic Association is the organization for the sports-minded girls of the Grayslake Community High School. The members participate in many individual and team sports throughout the year. These activities promote co-operation, enjoyment, exercise, good sportsmanship, physical fitness, teamwork and the development of worth- while leisure-time activities. The members also look forward to the special social affairs held yearly. Members of the G. A. A. Board are the leaders of the association. The officers this year are: President, Evelyn Titus, Vice-President, Nancy Fyfeg Secretary-Treasurer, Sandra Rittenhouseg Senior Representative, Dianne Hintzg junior Representative, JoAnn Back: Sophomore Represent- ative, Carol Back, and Freshman Representative, Cheryl Smith.
