Class Prophecy Allow us to introduce ourselves as future-snoopers. We are going to whisk you ahead to the year 1969. First, we will start in Grayling. We find NEWT ALLISON still giving up-to-date trout reports in the Grayling High School civic classes. Well, well! KAY WARNER has taken over Mr. Bovee’s ski instructing class. Yes, and DARLA BOGER is Mr. Thayer’s chief as- sistant in teaching English Literature. When we visited the Mercy hospital we found that SALLY NELSON had just finished her lab technician course and is working under the head nurse ANN STAMPFLY. We also found RAE LINDA WHEELER as the main surgeon. Rae already has a small graveyard full of her mistakes. Who should we see taking a blood test but HELEN BALCH. She decided that nursing was better than housekeeping. TONY MAURER has opened his legal deer reserve for his friends, who enjoy the great sport of hunting at night. We find OSCAR HORNING very busily guarding his wife in addition to the basketball court. Talking about married people, JULIE LOVELY is just as lovely as ever, after having four sets of quadruplets. JOHN COX has taken over Ray's Canoe Livery, and is doing a good business. CLARA WOLCOTT is playing her usual jokes on her nine little monsters. JOE ROZENEK has bought out Geritol and has changed the solution so the teen- agers can keep later hours. MARYDA STILLWAGON has been living in Beaver Creek for the past five years and is enjoying the peace and quiet of the country. HILDA TERRY has bought a candy store so she can have candy at wholesale prices. JIM KESSELER is now president of his own car washing firm. KAY TINKER is the general in the Hall’s house- hold. As we go a little further North, Marquette to be exact, we find KAY DURGA working as Professor Ferguson’s secretary. SANDRA SORENSON has finally moved to Warren, where she will be nearer her boy friend. LEROY STARKS is manager of a travel agency in Detroit and in his spare time he finds jobs for immigrants. PAT COX is now in Ireland building his potent sport cars. DIANA BLAINE has her own airlines so she can take her children to see their daddy on weekends. BILL WEAVER and JEANNE HOLTCAMP are still working at their ski lodge in Switzerland. ILOMA HAUSMANN has a teaching position in Alaska, and in her spare time she psychoanalyzes the polar bears. RUSSELL MUDGE is on strike from his highly technical job as an airplane mechanic. On the more glamorous side of life, we find that ALBERT JOHNSON has just completed his 26th silent movie, and that LARRY LAGROW has just voted hirfiself Speaker of the House in the U. S. Congress. LEO ROCHETTE is a famous disc jockey on the station A to XYZ? DIANE SIEWERT is a beauty operator in a men's barber shop in Chicago. MARLENE YODER has a job scrubbing Captain Iggy's ship. CHRISTINE LUTZ is a member of the United Nation Women's Air Force Unit. Guess what! PHILIP FAUSTMAN has become the star kicker on the old men's peanut league with DEE FISHER as star cheerleader. We find that CURT HAAS has just made the Annapolis football team. ERWIN BANCROFT has just finished his 10th year of college and has enrolled for another two. TOM GALVANI, the great Texan, is still looking for bum steers. JIM KNIGHT is now testing jets for the Lock- heed Company at Burbanks, California. Last but not least we find that HAZEL CANFIELD has secured a job as secretary to Governor, ED SKINNER, and that ELAINE ROCHETTE has her hands full taking care of all the little governors. 18
