C3 I 1 A D V ll 09' lk ry, z N. qi 'I-p , I v.f l I U Z Aff ll' X? 'l xr .r S Q5 'I SENIOR CLASS POEM L We have reached the day of parting, And our hearts are full of grief, While we're sobbing, our teachers are saying, Goodness, what a RELIEF! Let us look into our school years, And remember those we 've met, And as we journey on 1ife's highway, Backward gaze, lest we forget . Monna Lou Bechdolt is first on our list, A student that Gray High is certain to miss, High in intelligence and winning ways, Her life will consist of happy days. Ronald Kerrigan, a studious lad, In history is a whiz, Good in sports, and good in class, A swell fellow he is. Wedding bells enter Phyllis Louck's mind As on her way she will go, In a merry month of '55, She will become Mrs. Kenneth Crow. Larry Louck, the class comedian. We wonder if he's sound, He's always playing jokes on someone, When will he settle down?l ? Wanda James, a silent lass, Is very sweet indeed, Although bashful, very pleasant, In friends she will always lead. Donald DeBoy, our ROMEO, Can be very coy, He gets mysterious letters, And we call him IJOVERBOY! Sandra Champ, a gay young miss, I-las abilities beyond measure, But when it comes to seriousness, Sandra's all for pleasure. O 'Q 5 if ek 1 X

'Y I r P non .4 ai- ' CLASS HI TORY In the year of our lord, Nineteen Hundred and forty-three, we started the long journey to our most prized goal--Graduation. As we look back through the years, we find five of our classmates have spent twelve years at Gray, They are: Sandra Champ, Carolyn Wiley, Maryalice Stanley, Marvin Mock, and Rodney Westlake, Jr. The rest of the class were gained before we started our high school years. ln our Freshman year, Willard McNees was our sponsor. We had two class parties, one at the home of Deloris Shade, and one at the home of Carolyn Wiley. As we were new members of high school, we were initated with a BOARD, As Sophomores, Robert Newton had the privilege of being our sponsa. We again had a party at Carolyn Wiley's and one at Sandra Champ's. By this time, we began to wonder about making money. We sponsored a food sale at Portland. As Juniors, John Mullins was our sponsor. Again, we had our full quota of class parties. We held one at the home of Deloris Shade and the other at Maryalice Stanley's. We planned several projects for making money. Among these were: ball- game concessions, calves, selling magazine subscriptions and Christmas cards, and sponsored a ball game. At last, we have reached our Senior year. Mr. Rankin and Mrs. Reynolds are our sponsors. We had our Christmas party at Mrs. Reynold's home, and everyone had a most joyous time. We've worked hard this year for the things we feel make high school complete. We started an annual and have worked industriously to finish it. We have planned a class trip to New York and Washington. But most of all, we are looking forward to May 4 .... the night of our graduation. And each breathes a sigh of relief, We made it! -'1 'S 0 -':' 3 -Ll

Gertrude Screeton, a true friend, And also very smart, No matter what the decision, She's willing to do her part. Rodney Westlake is our shy guy, He 's always been that way, But when the occasion calls for it, Then Rodney has his say! Deloris Shade, a loyal Senior, Very fair and kind, Wherever she goes, whatever she does, She keeps her class in mind. In basketball and baseball, The school will miss this socker, Sure, you know the one we mean, That Senior boy--Jack Stocker.
