'Y I r P non .4 ai- ' CLASS HI TORY In the year of our lord, Nineteen Hundred and forty-three, we started the long journey to our most prized goal--Graduation. As we look back through the years, we find five of our classmates have spent twelve years at Gray, They are: Sandra Champ, Carolyn Wiley, Maryalice Stanley, Marvin Mock, and Rodney Westlake, Jr. The rest of the class were gained before we started our high school years. ln our Freshman year, Willard McNees was our sponsor. We had two class parties, one at the home of Deloris Shade, and one at the home of Carolyn Wiley. As we were new members of high school, we were initated with a BOARD, As Sophomores, Robert Newton had the privilege of being our sponsa. We again had a party at Carolyn Wiley's and one at Sandra Champ's. By this time, we began to wonder about making money. We sponsored a food sale at Portland. As Juniors, John Mullins was our sponsor. Again, we had our full quota of class parties. We held one at the home of Deloris Shade and the other at Maryalice Stanley's. We planned several projects for making money. Among these were: ball- game concessions, calves, selling magazine subscriptions and Christmas cards, and sponsored a ball game. At last, we have reached our Senior year. Mr. Rankin and Mrs. Reynolds are our sponsors. We had our Christmas party at Mrs. Reynold's home, and everyone had a most joyous time. We've worked hard this year for the things we feel make high school complete. We started an annual and have worked industriously to finish it. We have planned a class trip to New York and Washington. But most of all, we are looking forward to May 4 .... the night of our graduation. And each breathes a sigh of relief, We made it! -'1 'S 0 -':' 3 -Ll
