Mrs. Harry Barnes, Pres., Mr. J A. Woodward, Principal, Mrs, G, E, Runge, Treggj Mr- Vi,-,gem l-lamriclc, Vice-Pres., Mrs. Joe Brown, Sec. and parents lor guidance. Interested parents and faculty members met the first Monday night in each month to discuss and plan for their common interests, their children and students. The board, consisting of P.T.A. officers, chairmen of committees, and Shannon Kelly, a student re- presentative, planned beneficial and inspiring programs around the P.T.A. National Congress theme, Strengthening the Home-Source of Our Nation's Greatness, and the state theme, For Our Children -Creative Life in a Changing World. Better family relationships and a closer tie between parents and their children were stressed. Excitement reigned high as the Music Department prepared to give its annual Christmas program to parents and friends at the PTA. meeting, Decem- ber 7. The chorus, under the direction of Miss Felicia Cash, presented selections of the Yuletide season. The band and the newly organized orchestra, under the direction of Mr. Leroy Rowley, gave a Christmas con- cert. Later in the year the curtain rose on Grayites demonstrating their talents in drama as the Speech Arts and Dramatics De- partment presented the program for the meeting of the P. T. A., May 2.
