H. S. On September L, two hundred eighty students met at the high school to begin another year of school. Numerous changes had taken place during the summer. The grade and high schools had been separated, with the con- struction of new grade buildings on a nearby area. The old school house had been remodeled until we hardly recognized it as the old building of last year. Through the efforts of the student council, shrubs were planted along the front walk the first few weeks of school. Later cement posts were placed by them for protection. Four faculty members were added to our staff this year and several teachers obtained higher degrees during the summer. New subjects includ- ing art, crafts, glee club, vocal music, business law, and modern his- w r added to the subiects offered high school students Some high- tory e e , . lights of the student activities were the Halloween Carnival, AnnualBeau- ty Contest, all-student picnic, class plays, and senior trip. As a whole the sports this year were good. The Lions received the sportsmanship trophy at the Springdale Invitation Basketball Tournament and won second place in the District Tournament. The Band was active, attending the County Fair, Band Day at the University of Arkansas, Bi-state Festival, and District Festival. They also presented their annual fall and spring concerts. This year at G. H. S. has been a happy one and we to see it end so suddenly. AX ,sv-'95 Y-:QQ f Lg Jvtn .limi -5 aw z-L C5 ff 74 f'f-Q1 mn., sts Zi- 1 I ' 1 , , ' 5? 09?
