STRENISIH Fllll lIVINIS Gut of turmoil and struggle are born great peoples. From the depths of despair and infinite sacrifice emerges everlasting light. For the road to the ideal way of life is neither straight nor smooth, but rather is it a tortuous path, requiring a determined will and an unfaltering step. Ours is a time of pitfalls and hazards, of nerves and emotions, of tremendous demands. To survive, we must be equipped with that indomitable strength which resists all oppression, surmounts every obstacle, and vanquishes all fear. The task which lies so clearly before us is a great one. It is the perfect union of three strengths, that of the body, of the mind, and of the spirit. Alone, they are ineffectual, together-invincible. With the achievement of physical stamina and moral fortitude, we are prepared for the final challenge. When we have so disciplined our bodies that they may be likened to efficient tools, and when our minds have been trained to meet trying situations with reason and judgf ment, then may we attempt the highest peak. For the fruits of the spirit are those which determine our survival. They are courage. They are honor. They are faith. They are those impregnable qualities which make men rise up above the multitude and refuse to be bowed down. Upon these depends our future. Let us dedicate ourselves to this unconquerable strength, this Strength for Living, knowing that with courage, and with honor, and with faith shall we triumph!
