HIS ASSISTA TS There are many varied courses offered hy our school to accommodate the interests and needs of every student. For pupils preparing to continue their studies, there is the Academic Course which provides a general knowledge of languages, sciences, and mathematics. Recently a new system was organized whereby those pupils entering Gratz with high intelligence quo' tients and grades are organized into a spef cial class to which particular attention is given. The Commercial Course offers those em' harking on a husincss career many specific studies from which they may choose. There are hookkeeping, stenography, typing, husif ness economics, and ollice practice, The Distrihutive Education Course provides suf pervised employment for certain students after a shortened school day. The Industrial and Mechanic Arts Courses are invaluahle to hoys preparing for defense johs and technical careers. Pupils with artistic tendencies may take the Vocational Arts Course: whereas those looking forward to vocations in dietetics, drcssmaking, fashion designing, and social work may select the Home Economics Course. Musical activities include vocal and instrumental ensemhlc, music appreciation, music literature, applied music, and chorus. The English Honors Course is a volunf tary efort on the part of a student who wishes to prepare a research paper on a suhject of his choice. Pupils having certain prohlems may folf low the Achievement Course suited to their particular needs. This course entitles them to certificates at graduation. With such a variety of curricula oifcrcd at Gratz, a student is certain to iind his particular niche and to henefit from his studies.
