NIR S'rRol sr Da. Alam. 1 Guidance ffiee ERY few of us during our stay at Gratz have not at sometime come face to face with a problem that brought us into the Guidance Office. Regardless of whether we needed a roster rearrangement, a change in course, a job to enable us to remain in school, information about college entrance or scholar- ships. or advice about selecting our vocation. the door of the Guidance Office was always open to all of us. Cheerful Dr. Abel, tl1e Guidance Chairmang genial Mr. Strouse, and cordial Miss Derr brought courage. inspiration and happiness to all who have sought their counsel. Could one wish for a more competent staif to undertake the many difficult tasks that are theirs? Those who came to Gratz in the midst of a term have been welcomed and ad- to their new surroundings by those in the Guidance Office. They are the people who understand young people and student problems and are most capable of giving advice for the solution of their perplexities. VVhat Gratzonian upon emergence from that room after an interview has not felt stronger, lighter of heart and more sure of the path ahead? In the office is an entire library of college catalogues and vocational pamphlets. There stands the bulletin board announcing examinations for scholarships and voca- tional opportunities. And now that we are no longer students, but alumni of Gratz. it is in the very same Guidance Office that reconnnendations for positions take form. YVe will remember for many years the efforts of llr. Abel, Miss llerr, and Mr. Strouse to insure us greater success and happiness. VVe cannot take leave of Gratz without first extending to them a sincere and hearty thank you. 4,1 Iiss Ilmui Fifteen
