Twelve GATES There are many different kinds of gates That open up to realms unknown. Some open up to show success, And some set forth a unique town. There are some gates full of design That lead to places not so fair, And others of much plainer lines That lead to things not half so bare. There are imaginary gateways too, That lead to beauties all aglow, To valley deep and skies of blue, And great tall mountains capped in snow. Where'er these many gates may lead From paths of chance to successfulness, Or to towns with beauty all aglore, It's best when they lead ro happiness.
