Steve Baringer never goes through a day, Without having something wise to say. Juliette, as you can plainly tell, Plans to become Mrs. Don Caldwell. A real Nice guy is Ted Darnell, In our class, we think he's swell. The blushing boy is Alvin Dale, With all his talents, he'll never fail. The shortest one in our class is Judy, But she stands tall in performing her duty. Harold Emmert is always near, And our class president this year. Nancy Goodnight goes around in a trance, Could it be her thoughts are in France? Shirley thinks the Navy's fine, I wonder who she has on her mind. Donna is always a lot of fun, Happiness to both her and Myron. Morris can really drive those cars, His only trouble is buying new tires. Larry Kinkead is a fairly tall guy, Without him, our team could not get by. Norman McHargue is a likeable lad, He loves to make the teachers mad. When it comes to dancing, Connie's a pill, But her greatest interest is Debbie and Bill. Arvil has never been caught sleeping, Although he has a time in Bookkeeping. Jim Pickering is a very nice lad, Who seldom ever does get mad. Jim Ramsey never raises a fuss, We're glad to have him graduate with us You can see Maxine sit and sigh, When a certain boy walks by. Dana cuts up and is always merry, All because of a boy named Terry. Sally Roberts is never a flirt, Because she goes steady with Ron Ebert. Fred Robison is the comedy of our class, And Joyce is his special lass. Rex is the inventor of our class, and with success We wish him luck and happiness. Here's a swell guy, Harold Wayne, He's always fun, sunshine or rain. Wilbur is the only one Martha dates, They'll marry after she graduates. Sally Williams is a quiet lass, We're glad to have her in our class. Keith is the center on our team, And in bookkeeping, he's always on the beam Joyce, no doubt, is very nice. And soon hopes to be hit by rice. 1323 Senior Glass rophecy Dear Mrs. Westfall, Almost ten years have passed since the Class of 59 graduated from Granville Wells High School. I am now a receptionist for my husband, Myron Densmore, and have met several of my classmates. I was talking to Ann Ashley the other day. She is a singer and has been booked to sing for six weeks in a Paris night club. Her husband, John King, is going with her. Shirley Graham joined the Waves a year after graduation. She is stationed in Cali- fornia and is going with the tall, dark, and handsome sailor she dreamed about during her senior year in high school. Steve Baringer is the history teacher in Granville Wells High School. I understand he is replacing Mrs. Endicott since her retirement. Juliette Chelf is married to Don Caldwell. She is also working for a big executive in New York, where they are now living. I was talking to Norman McHargue the other day. He is a well-known disc-jockey at radio station WIBC at Indianapolis. Maxine Ragsdale and Connie Neff are models for Macey's of New York. I hear the chemise has come back into style again. Sally Roberts has gone to Hollywood to star in a movie. She has all of five lines to say in her role. Another member of our class, Ted Darnell, made Hollywood. He is an usher in one of Hollywood's most famous theaters. Joyce McCullough is married to Fred Robison. They are now living in Advance and Joyce owns the Arthur Murray Dance Studio located in downtown Advance. Morris Hoover told me that he had won an award as Indiana's safest driver. I also hear that he has no passengers riding to work with him anymore. I guess they were scared away. Nancy Goodnight is married to Bob Guernsey and has two little Guernseys. She is also the president of the Always Late Society. I don't know how she ever got into that club. 1333 Judy Dickson is press agent for one of the most famous movie stars in this period of time, Jim Pickering. Harold Emmert is a professor at Vassar College, a school for women. Martha Whiles was married to Wilbur Sellers a week after graduation. She is now working as a dental assistant for another member of our class, Larry Kinkead. Harold Stoner and Keith Witt have formed their own basketball team. I hear it is similar to the Harlem Globetrotters. Arvil Pennington has a big real estate firm close to Dallas, Texas. He is a light weight boxer, also. He has been defeated twenty times out of twenty-one matches. Dana Rhoades is now residing in Miami, Florida, and owns her own Beauty Salon. She was married to Terry Ross about a year after she graduated from school. Can you imagine Rex Stewart being a race driver? He has been racing for three years at the Indianapolis 500 , and last year placed third. Alvin Dale lives in California and is studying to be a lawyer. He has just married the Miss America of 1961. Sally Yvilliams is a secretary for a business firm in Chicago. She is also the president of the Lonely Hearts Club in Chicago. Another member of our class, J im Ramsey, is studying to be a lawyer. When he has finished his schooling, he will start his practice in Jamestown, Indiana. I hope you have enjoyed hearing what the Class of '59 has been doing. As you can see, we are all successful. BAND The Scnfor Band, consisting of fifty-one students, has experienced one of its most successful years uiidcr the excellent direction and supervision of Mr. Merle Bucklew. The off'c:rs of the l958-59 school year were: president, Nancy Goodnight: secretary, Juliette Chclfg treasurer and student council representative, Judy Ebert. At the beginning of the year, the two drum majcretles were chosen by Mr. Bucklew. After try-A outs and consideration, Judy Ebert and Sue Shubzrt were chosen. The activities for the year have been numerous. As a money-making project, the band sponsor- ed a sock-hop following each Friday night home game, The band marched at four of the home games, giving a Hne performance each time. Musical selections were played at all home games. Those who entered the district solo and ensemble contest did exceptionally well. There were fifteen entries, seven of which won first place. The band boosters have been the greatest of help in supporting the band. Among other things, they bought two sousaphones this year, which improve the sound and apprearance of the band. Another addition that was made was the purchase of new uniforms for the twirlers and the drum majorettes. The band was host for the Boone County Spring Music Festival, March I3, l958. ln addi- tion, the school will play host for the district band and chorus contest. 1691 CHORUS g'Wiv t l'1I'rl 1-tm: Itlllllil Imttlt-. .lufly 'I'r1hI-'tt.
