CLASS HIST OR Y In September of 1945 a group of about Z9 Freshman began a precarwus xoyage through the seas of Gram 1l1e I-hgh School toward their harbor Commencement Day Of those or1g1nal Z9 only 14 have safely weathered the wmds and storms The passenger list on the shlp GHS Freshmen conslsted of the followmg Fxelyn Boutlller joyce Harmon janet Cox Bexerley Hanson Howard Hills Gordon Frlandson Donald Detbler joe Lund Wxllard Thom Dick Wells Donald Wa1tz.er Doran Waltz.er Marjeanne Mueller Viola Wager Mildred Wager Dolly Mae Wager Pauline jones LoVetta Wtdmayer Donald Lxppman O Delle Hanson Emma jane Wneroskl Lyle Moffatt Mildred Aarnes AnnaBelle Bailey oan Crawford Bxllxe Brummond johnme Hiller and George Lewls The ship put mto port after the first lap of its xoyage in the sprung 1946 In the fall there were nine who d1d not enter thelr names ln the GHS Sophomore s passenger 11st Thls shlp left behind in port o Lund Wlllard Thom Donald and Doran Waltzer the three Wager gurls D ck Wells and Donald Llppman joyce Martm durxng the voyage transferred to Mlnot and George Lewis Jomed the jumors 46 The second haven was reached in june of 1947 The GHS junior left on the third leg of the voyage tn September of the same year This tlme the shlp s l1st did not carry the names of O Belle Hanson and Emma Wleroskl Before the ship put mto port an the sprlng of 1948 It had to report the followmg AWOL s Bxllle Brummond Lyle Moffatt Paulmg jones and johnnte Hiller A new name added to the list at the beglnnxng of this voyage was that of Helen Thompson but she also left us to jom the ranks of those graduatxng nn 48 The ship was happy to report the return of two wanderers j e Lund and Willard Thom By successfully saxlmg around all obstacles they had reached our ship once more There were two gala occaslons on the GHS jumor The furst o December 12 1947 was the jumor play Strxctly Formal a fascmat ing comedy wxth all passengers contrxbutnng to the success of the evening The second event and perhaps the most lmportant one of the voyage was the presentation of the jumor Senxor Banquet and Prom on May 14 1948 On the banquet table damty and beautiful decoratxons emphastaed the theme STARDUST Durlng the evening The Happy Gang set a mood for dancing on the deck under a sky of blue sprmkled wxth stars of sllver 13 I -Q - ' , .
