frealoicm ,Shciefg The Thespian Club of 1952-53 began a successful year by taking in Twelve new members. On March 6, they put on four one-act plays, which were directed by students and given for the public. One of these plays was chosen to enter a district contest at Otterbein College. The club also attended a play at Ohio State University and one at Denison University. The year was climaxed by a dance at the school. With the help of our advisor, Mr. Anson, the members were able to learn im- portant points about directing, lighting, and special techniques. This year's ot- ficers were: President u,,, ..,s ,,s.. We finished paying for the band uniforms with the magazine sale receipts. On November 14, 1952, a fall dance was sponsored for the students of the Council. Under the capable direction of Mr. Anson, the iunior class produced IT HAPPENED ONE NIGHT by Norman Cannon. lt was qu-ite a hilarious situation when Andrew Tankers decided to stage a scene to test his wife's devotion to him, not knowing that his daughter, June, had planned to stage a scene to arouse the butler's iealousy.
