We had many boys representing the Junior Class in sports. We also had our share in I-Teens, Hi-Y, Thespians, and Chorus. One of the high lights was the Junior Class Play, 'Judy Pulls the Curtain which was directed by Mr. Anson. Our treasury was also increa.sed,by a bake sale and by selling at the games. All of this was aimed towards the traditional Junior and Senior Banquet which was a great success. We owe much to our able advisors, Miss Miley and Mr. Anson, who were helping us every day. In order to give the members more experience in all fields of dramatics, it was decided to have direction, producing, and acting in the club. Five pla s were chosen and three were given for the public. The success of the program this year was due largely to the excellent supervision of our new advisor, Mr. Anson. Fourteen Juniors were in the cast counting two assistant directors. Quite a few of us helped with make-up, ushering, pub- licity, tickets, and the stage crew. The setting of our play was a room over a garage in which we find three girls trying to put on a play for a famous Hollywood producer. As most of you know the producer was really only a bum, whom the girls' boyfriends had hired to play the part. Upon learning this, the girls explode and even go so far as to throw a pie into the bu.m's face. 'I'his, our first play, we believe turned out to be a great success 5 and this was due largely through the efforts and under- standing given us by our director, Mr. Anson. I my , f' , ul. The main characters were three brokers in the New York Stock llarket. Comedy was produced when one of the brokers tried to go through a day without telling a lie. This unique situation provided a very enjoyable evening's enter- tainment. The cast did a find job, supported by s very efficient stage crew and the direction of Hr. Tney gave many excellent performnces on the football field during half-time. At the end of the football season the Band put on a night show on the field. Included in the program was a demonstration of how the band learn- ed their formations, hcl the band is organized and the purpose of certain formations. The band then presented a review of all the shows that they had presented during the year. The annual spring concert was given in lhrch and was well received. 58 Ron h Cleft to right! JOURNAL ISM The 1950-51 Journalism Class was small but with everyone working hard they were able to get out a weekly paper. On special occasions such as Thanksgiving and Christmas, special editions were run which were larger than the regular ones. Pat Truman did a very fine job of editing this yearg Phyllis Morrow, her assistant, took charge of proof reading. Credit for all sports events goes to Ray Montgomery, who had a big job covering all the sports stories. Gathering news of club and class doings was the jobgiven to Louise Titus. The major portion of the art work was done by Effie Weekley, Diane Burchard, and Pat Truman. Three very able reporters who wrote up special features and articles were Jaclcie Charlesen, Jim Young, and Barbara DeLancey. The typists were Janet Montgomery, Mary L. King, Pat Breymaier, Mary Moss, and Mary Lou Pickering.
