Life or destruction? Beginning or end? One world or none? They say the world is ours. Shall we accept its uncertainties? Shall we give it our all? Shall we accept its challenge? Success or failure? Peace or destruction? What shall we make of our world? Commencement? -Marjorie Packer THE' 62145555 Junbr President Vire-President Serret ary Treasurer Social Chairman THEIR OFFICERS Florence Student Council Representative O A Brief Review Dick Horton ,lack Ott , Phyllis Roley Hollingworth Earl jones Reese Sutton This year the Class of '--I9 did quite well for itself in good old G.H.h. I here were -luniors on the football squad and several on the basketball team. Quite a number of our group were initiated into Delta Nu Kappa. Of course the two big events in the junior year are the play and Junior- Senior Prom. Out of the Frying Pan by Francis Swann was given on Novem- ber I3 and I4. and it was very ably directed by Miss Evalyn Piper. The banquet has not been held yet, but the class has no doubt of its success. To ease our rather burdened budget, we sold refreshments at some of the football games. And speaking of football games, those of us who didn't play in the games, backed our team with rheers and two cheerleaders. Also. we gave our support to Y-Teens, Hi-Y, D.N.K. and Band. 26 THEIR CLASS BACK RUVV I, TO R: Di-ok Miller, .lim XYhite, Hola Morelunfi, John Flvtcher, Dick Jester, Ken XVilliamson, Tom Kier, .lim Posey, Eddie Volz. Student Council, under Sam Schwarzkopfs able student leader- ship, has had fun this year making assembly plans and programs for various school activities. YVhat with athletic competition and other activity plans, we were a little late in making plans for our first party on February 13, but our Hard Times party was a huge success. XVe also sponsored the Curtis magazine sale again this year and put the profit in a fund for football field lights. Student Council took a forward step in self direction this year when the group selected its own junior Representative to the Licking County Student Council. Previously, this position had been filled by administrative appointment. Dick Horton was elected junior Repre- sentative and served with Sam Schwarzkopf. who as president of our council automatically has a seat with the county student government. Our officers for the year were: Sam Schwarzkopf, Presidentg Pat YVilliams, Secretaryg John Brown, Treasurer. Mr. Martin wa s th e Council's faculty adviser. 45 EEIZ5, . ,, 1 f.,.
