Their next game was scheduled with the Cincinnati Reds. I immdeiately planned to take the train to the game since Cin- cinnati and Pittsburgh were tied for first place in the Na- tional League. As the Reds took the field and the first Pi- rate batter stepped in, the crowd stood and cheered. The teenage bobby-soxers' Fan Club swooned for it was our Usuper athletic,H Rich. The speaker blared, HThis is Wesley Durst giving you the play-by-play description of today's game.H What a sur- prise! I never dreamed Wes would be a radio announcer. The speaker continued, nB1ackwell winds up for the pitch. It's wild for ball one with Beachy making a sensa- tional catch.n I consulted my program to find out who this catcher was.
