The motto for the Class of '56 is HLife 18 but a picture, pa1nt 1+ well ' In the last four years, they have done an outstandlng Job 1n preparing a good background for thls pic ture As freshmen, they good naturedly sur vived the trad1t1onal init1at1on given by the sophomores and gave a flne return party following year they retal1ated by 1n1tiating the Class of '57 In the spr1ng of '55, they worked long hours prepar1ng for the Jun1or-Senior Prom and Banquet, which proved to be a great suc cess They chose Gary Fish and Karene John son as the1r Klng and Queen The Junlor year was a momentous one for these young men and women In the fall, they proudly displayed the1r new class r1ngs Then 1H November, they presented themr clas play, 'Tattletale', whlch demonstrated thelr sc1n tlllating actlng abllity In thelr flrst three years they picked three charming girls as their Homecoming attendants They were, respectively, Betty Johnson, Ethel Ryan, and Janice Soderbeck Each vear they have constructed e beautiful float for the Homecomlng parade This year they began bl electing the fol lowing officers Pres1dent, Charles Johnson, V1ce President, Ethel Ryan, Treasurer, Joanne Johnson, Secretary, Sally Bonneville, and Re porter, Mlchael McCann They also elected Gary F1sh and Ione Johnson to represent them on the student council Then, in October, they promoted a very successful Homecoming The gym was exquisitely decorated to the theme, HHarbor Llghtsu E1leen Swanson and Harold Larson were the royalty of the event Th1s spring, they gave the Senior Class Play, whlch was a real hit Joanne Johnson, Treasurer, Sally Bonneville, Secretary, Ethel Ryan, Vice Pres1dent, Michael McCann, Reporter, Charles Johnson, Presldent, Mr Mattson, Advlsor Senior s ts T J R 0 I r - 141 , I ..
