Seoretar . M. Brown l wish to take this opportunity to congratu late the seniors for their effort in sponsoring this annual and everyone who has worked on this yearbook. The task of getting this book ready for pub- lication is very great. lt takes much time and en- ergy. The annual staff is the one who is to receive the highest of praise for their splendid work. Our school yearbook will always bring back pleasant memories of the days which were spent in high school. The days we go to school are the most plea- sant days of our lives. Many of the students will and can look back to their school days and say. a job well done, while others cannot say quite the same. So many students do such a good job of going to school by doing well in their academic work and the extra-curricular subjects which are being offered, while others do very little for them- selves. If students would only realize that hard study- ing and participating in school activities will and do pay off, there possibly wouldn't be such :i high degree of difference in their academic per- centile. I am glad for public schools. and that boys and girls can attend whether rich or poor so that they may gain knowledge which will be a great benefit to them later on in life. I am glad for the citizens of our country and the folks of our district are for public school edu- cation. and that they are willing to pay for these schools and for the education of the boys and girls. Do you want to know who one of our most cheerful and friendly persons in our school is? Vile will be glad to tell you that she is Mrs Brown, the office secretary. She not only does bookkeeping and writes out late slips and excuses. but is also a favorite among teachers and the stu- dents. Mr. Nelson will tell you that he couldn't get along without her, and we, the student body, must say the same. She is glad to help out when- ever she can, by taking care of an assembly, mak- ing costumes for her cub scouts, or being a guest for a luncheon given by the home economics girls. Mrs. Browns pleasant voice and charming smile make the school day seem much brighter. Even when she has a whole desk full of work to do and many reports to write up, she is never too busy to do a favor for anyone. Besides doing a fine job of working at school she is also a wonder- ful wife and mother. XVe of the annual staff, on behalf of the whole school. want to take this op- portunity to say, Thank-you, Mrs. Brown, for being so nice to us. and for helping to make G. H. S. a nicer place to be. , s X- Principal A. T. Nelson
