We first knew her as a teacher and as a friend. For the past two years we have been privileged to go to her with all our problems and needs, finding her ever willing to help us strive to develop the best that is within us.Her sincerity and perception inspire self-confidence and determination in those who seek her advice. 4000 r. Zeb Mr. Watson, who directed our band for several years, was a very kind and generous man.I-Ie was a friend to all who knew him. I-Ie wanted everyone to be happy and he created this a t m o s p h e r e at each practice session. In gear their willingneoo to oerve, we remember theoei aul feen are On S eptemb er 18, we met a friendly, energetic, happy little boy who came, of his own choosing, to try out for mascot. Leon, cheerful and alert, seemed to think of us as his friends. His infectious smile won the vote of our class. How deeply moved we were when we heard the news of his drow ning on October 24! Many of us, along with his family, will always cherish the memory of this gay little life who, we feel, was chosen by God. God moves in a Mysterious way, His wonders to perform, He plants his footsteps in the sea, And rides upon the storm. Light Shinning Out of Darkness By William Cowper cwatoen rememberance of Mr. Watson, we the Senior Class of 1963-64, would like to express our personal gratitude to a man who contributed much of his time to help Gran- tham begin a band.
