HOME ECONOMICS Mrs. Sylvia Benson Home Ec. . . . Boys' Home Ec. . . . Advanced Home Ec. . . . Home making. Boys are offered a class in Home Economics. Among other things, they cook and sew. Illus- trated is a unit in sewing: from cutting out the pattern, sewing up the garment on the sewing machines, and even pressing out the material as the work progresses. 20

French I The learning process in German also was broken by other activities. The students had to write and read stories in German. Some of these programs were given in a dramatic tone with the students in costumes or through their actions to accompany their dialogue. Lower left, Valinda Bentley, who placed second in Spanish I competition in Foreign Language Field Day in La Grande in April. Andrea Aasness and Mark Tillotson tied for third while Debi Crocker and Michelle Liberty tied for second place in French I competition.

ons One of the high points in the cooking unit is the preparation and serving the faculty luncheon. Shown here are faculty members enjoying this meal and some of the girls who worked hard on the preparation and the cleanup job afterwards. The girls in Home Ec. classes usually start the year by learning to sew. The unit is usually concluded with a fashion show. Two pictures from this are given above.
