The combined Freshman English and Social Studies classes involved students in Human Relations, Current Events, Grammar, Composition, and much literary reading. Freshman Social Studies expanded students knowledge on world history and the different cultures of other countries. College Writing, English Literature and Creative Writing were several classes that focused on preparation for the college bound student. English Skills and Developmental Reading were the two new courses in the English Curriculum. English Skills dealt with basic skills, and Developmental Reading helped students get more from their reading.
