I-ib1'a1'Y and Bookroom Grantonians have always been proud ot their library. Under the guidance ot Miss Dorothy Iohnson, the library aids them in making reports and doing research. Often Miss Iohnson takes time out trofn her busy schedule to help English and history classes work on special subjects. At times like this the library annex is convenient. This year Grant's library is more functional than ever. Recently we have added a browsing corner in memory ot Elizabeth Caldwell McGaw, beloved dean ot girls tor many years. Miss Iohnson's student assistants are: lim Ten- Eyck, Murrell Peddicord, Pat Porter, Carolann Bass, Connie Kinser, Barbara Exley, Kurt Kessler, Marlene Maudry, Diane Foreman, lanet Iones, Iirn Timmons, Dorothy Spady, Io Ann Harding, Sharon Iones, Gayle Grittith and Kay Large. One of the least appreciated duties here at Grant goes on in a small inconspicuous room on the second floor. It is Room 208, the book room. Here Mrs. Blosser and her student assistants carry out the func- tions ot the department, distributing textbooks, maga- zines, and movies and getting operators for the pro- jection room. Student assistants in the work are: Canton Wil- son, Phil Strother, Terry Mills, Winona Delfel, Iim Maule, Sue Robertson, Brad Canutt, lack Rooney, David Baird, and Ed Feves. , 2 Test IOYUOUOW ,Q Y Miss johnson and , students in the browsing Come,-

P. T. A. Mrs. William Padie President The Grant P.T.A., as usual, has been busy this year. Punchbowls and cups were purchased for the school's use. Selling ads for the Memoirs, helping with the Dad's Club Variety Show, selling football jamboree tickets, and sponsoring an advisor training class for clubs have been activities of the P.T.A. Installation of the sundial memorial was an additional job to keep them busy. The P.T.A. has also worked for the chest x-ray and Crusade for Freedom, and helped with a football banquet and centennial by serving, advertising, and costuming. A tour year scholarship for elementary teachers training has also been sponsored by them. The Memoirs Staff thanks the Grant P.T.A, in behalf of the school. 5 t 5 2 Q L
