VICE-PRINCIPALS Mary N. Schroeder has been Dean of Girls at Grant High School for the last four years. Dur- ing this time she has given invaluable aid to the Girls' League, its officers and projects, and all its members. The screening of all candidates for school of- fices, commencement ushers and the rally squad, is left to her good judgment. She must assign girls' detention and make certain that it doesn't slip their minds. Residence cards and college applications for seniors are handled through her office. All activity cards are brought to her and sorted before being returned to the registration teachers. The school problems of the female student body members fall inevitably on her shoulders. For her competent help and guidance, she deserves the thanks of the student body. This year Grant High acquired a new Vice- Principal. He is Kenneth A. Erickson, an ex-Grant student of the class of '35, He has fallen into the Ways of high school life again and has his new duties Well under control. At almost any hour of the day, his office is occupied by one or more boys who have been advised by their teachers to go down and see Mr. Erickson. He is in charge of countersigning all student-body checks and must okay any others which are cashed. ln his hours not spent straightening out the problems of Grant boys or excusing them for illness, he is busy With the executive council, Mr. Meek, or the members of the Dad's Club. Mr. Erickson has had an immense job to fill at Grant and is proving himself more than capable. T Left io right: Mrs, Abel, Miss Barley, Mrs. Summers
