Mr. E. E. Homing, whom students and teachers respected as an instructor and honored as a friend, passed away on Friday, April 4. From the date of Grant's erection, Mr. Horning contributed liberally, willingly of his hours and patience to help it grow from only a building into an institution whose influence is felt by hundreds of students each year. The deep sorrow occasioned by his death was a significant tribute to Mr. Horning, and a symbol of the sincere affection accorded him. Words seem empty when one seeks to mold them into phrases full of the praise and admiration due a friend who has died, but the sincere grief evinced at his passing is eloquent in itself. When the years have dimmed our memories of Mr. Horning, his principles and ideals will still live, instilled in the students who were guided by him. For that we are proud of the teacher whom we respected in life, and honor in death.
