Miss Helen Barley Miss Grace Pidcoe Mrs. Margaret Philips Mr. A. I . Bittner IN APPRECIATION THE OFFICE . . . Brrr, trembles a student, I don't like that place. But he has probably seen it from the wrong angle, for the atmosphere is really friendly and fairly hums with activity. The biggest friend in the office is Adolf F. Bittner, our principal. He and C. E. Scott, Vice-Principal, and Miss Elizabeth McGaw, Dean of Girls, are the guiding forces of the government that manage 2550 students. Through the office the faculty is contacted and receives notices. Every day before the beginning of classes, teachers are busily gathering material from their boxes. Eagerness for their work can be seen as they smile at students passing by and chatting with their fellow faculty friends. Then off to their rooms they dash . . . what will the day hold forth? Miss Helen Barley, official Secretary of Grant High School and also Secretary to Mr. Bittner, is the outstanding personality of the office. Her willingness to help, her timely advice, and her pleasant disposi- tion truly make her the friend of every student. She is assisted by Mrs. Margaret Phillips and Miss Grace Pidcoe. Mrs. Phillips is attendance clerk while Miss Pidcoe handles credits. The Grant Student Body Office is in charge of Mrs. Isla Donert. In this office the financial standards of the school are kept and it also serves as a supply center. Under Mrs. Donert are several student clerks, among these are Dick Herndobler, head cashier, Ted Hedene, Shirley Horning, Margaret Craig, and Betty Sharp. Because of these many services. the office and student body office are the nerve centers of the school.
